Fujifilm Medical Systems USA Inc., Stamford, Conn., is showcasing further enhancements to the patient imaging record at the 2015 annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, held May 28 through May 30 in Washington, DC.
“Fujifilm recognizes that [vendor neutral archiving] technology is becoming more important to the market,” said Jim Morgan, the company’s vice president of medical informatics. “Healthcare institutions and market shifts have created larger networks of facilities. Large hospital groups are coming together, disparate [picture archiving and communication] systems are more common, and the use of electronic medical records has created central repositories of textual information. But what hospitals also want is to create a single repository for all their imaging data, in addition to other items like lab reports.”
On display is Synapse PACS—what Fujifilm refers to as the “cornerstone” of its integrated solution—which allows radiologists to benefit from enhanced communication and optimized productivity in any imaging environment.
Additionally, the company is featuring its next generation of Synapse radiology information system, which integrates seamlessly with its PACS. The integrated solution enables radiologists to see scanned documents and history from within the PACS and allows users to see images from within the RIS.
Fujifilm is also exhibiting its Synapse Mobility Enterprise Viewer to expand VNA image access across entire health system.
