Diagnostic Health has purchased a suite of Carestream products for five multi-modality imaging centers in Texas and Pennsylvania. The solutions include Carestream Vue RIS, Carestream Vue Cloud PACS, and Carestream Vue Cloud Archive. Diagnostic Health originally evaluated five other suppliers before settling on Carestream.

Among the company’s top priorities was a flexible, intuitive interface that would allow its radiology team to access the system in the office and at home. The services provide customized reporting and results tracking, cloud-based patient information, and long-term online storage, data protection and disaster recovery. As a result of the deal, Carestream will also integrate its PACS with electronic medical records for Diagnostic Health’s top referral partners.

“We didn’t start out looking for a cloud-based solution,” said Diagnostic Health president Murat Caglayan. “But as we evaluated our options, it didn’t make sense for us to continue adding hardware and software in various locations and incurring the expense for purchasing, maintaining and managing this equipment. It’s much more efficient to use the cloud, which offers better management of our imaging workflow while also delivering archiving and disaster recovery.” The company expects to hit 18% in cost savings by making the transition.
