CurveBeam, LLC is launching a London-based office as a springboard for its European operations. The Warrington, Pa-based company has been gradually upscaling its European presence since the adoption of its pedCAT device by physicians in Germany and the UK earlier this year. Guy Long has been appointed Director of CurveBeam’s European Operations.

CurveBeam was founded in 2009 to provide a low-cost alternative to traditional CT scans for the orthopedic and podiatry industries. The pedCAT system uses 3D cone beam imaging to scan one or both feet in under 60 seconds, with limited radiation.

PedCAT received its CE marking enabling it to be sold in the European Economic Area in January 2013. It was subsequently adopted by Dr. Martinus Richter, an internationally recognized foot and ankle specialist, at Krankenhaus Rummelsberg medical clinic in Schwarzenbruck, Germany, and by Drs. Andy Goldberg and Dishan Singh at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in Stanmore, England.

Long will oversee CurveBeam’s European presence, having worked with distributors and practitioners of cone beam computed tomography for the last decade. PTM-Network Services, Ltd., is partnering with CurveBeam to distribute the pedCAT in Germany and neighboring regions.
