Agfa HealthCare has announced that Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology, a 15-location practice in Long Island, NY, that performs more than half a million procedures annually, has installed 2 Agfa DX-D 300 digital radiography (DR) systems. Zwanger-Pesiri plans to install a third system before the end of the year, and will likely make further additions as the practice expands into 2014.
According to the manufacturer, the DX-D 300 is designed to be universal, flexible, and affordable. A U-arm design aims to ensure patient comfort and technologist efficiency, while the Agfa NX Workstation allows automatic “stitching” of full leg and spine examinations. The systems also provide the option of combined computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) use. Finally, cesium iodide DR detector technology may lead to significant patient dose reduction.
