Electronic manufacturer Samsung will debut its first digital radiography (DR) system in the U.S. market, the company announced. The Samsung XGEO GC80 has already received gold recognition from the iF International Forum and the International Design Excellence Awards.

The system uses a TFT-based flat panel detector and Samsung’s signature Adaptive Local Contrast Stretching (ALCOS) software to maximize image contrast and sharpness. Robotics technology allows users to ergonomically orient the tube head unit for greater comfort and productivity. Safety features include automatic positioning, tracking, and parking, while audiovisual cues guide users through each step.

The product reflects the company’s commitment to producing user-friendly, accurate healthcare technology, said Doug Ryan, Group Vice President for Health and Medical Equipment at Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division. “The Samsung XGEO GC80 will provide an innovative alternative in the digital radiography market, leveraging Samsung’s deep expertise in advanced imaging technology and ergonomic design.”
