Claron Technology’s NilShare and NilRead viewers now have new enhancements available, including DICOM streaming support integration to allow rapid streaming from remote PACs or VNAs and cache-less configuration. Support for recently approved RESTful DICOM web services (WADO-RS, QIDO-RS, and STOW-RS) also allows unrelated hospitals’ medical systems to connect via the Web.

Nil’s non-DICOM support now includes native raster formats, such as jpeg, png, tiff, bmp, and PDF, along with arbitrary binary objects like Microsoft Office or audio files. The original files reside in the Nil archive, but can also be accessed via a companion archive system through an application programming interface (API). Integration with electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epiq also supports images within the patient record.
