The Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Healthcare Network (LAC +USC) has purchased and installed 13 FCR Go digital portable x-ray systems from FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, of Stamford, Conn.

“The FCR Go has really surpassed our expectations by allowing technologists to work more efficiently and by making quality images available to our radiologists more quickly,” said Daniel Amaya, administrator of diagnostic services, LAC+USC.  “We wanted to convert the entire facility to the same digital portable, and with the system’s tech-friendly features, wireless networking capabilities and overall reliability, it’s proven to be the right move. We’ve virtually eliminated retakes and have even increased efficiency, two key factors since we perform nearly 400,000 exams each year.”

LAC + USC, which opened in November 2008, is one of the largest acute care hospitals in the country.   The FCR Go incorporates Fujifilm’s standard durable, lightweight cassettes in multiple sizes, enabling flexibility to perform any imaging exam. The system also features smart operation at the workstation, as well as “inching” and dual collimator controls aid efficiencies.  The FCR Go will interface with the hospital’s Fujifilm Synapse PACS, which features exam specific presets for dynamic image optimization.
