binarycode_1To help coders prepare for the updated CCA Certification Exam in ICD-10 offered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Libman Education, Bedford, Mass, has released an ICD-10-based CCA exam prep course authored by nationally recognized coding experts Pamela Haney and Mary Beth York.

Titled Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Exam Review, the online, self-paced course provides a comprehensive review of the domains of AHIMA’s CCA exam, including medical terminology, anatomy, reimbursement methodologies, healthcare data sets, and standards. It also provides intensive ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding practice and valuable study and test-taking strategies.

As a foundational medical coder credential, the CCA credential, according to AHIMA, “distinguishes coders by exhibiting commitment and demonstrating coding competencies across all settings, including both hospitals and physician practices. … Becoming a CCA positions you as a leader in an exciting and growing market.”

“With ICD-10 here, there is an immediate need to demonstrate ICD-10 coding proficiency across all settings,” said Pamela Haney. “My co-author Mary Beth York and I drew on our extensive coding experience to build a review course where students with foundational coding knowledge can learn just what they need to know in minimal time. Those who take the course can be ready for the CCA in as little as 8-10 weeks.”
