Tableau will integrate its visual analytics with Cerner’s HealtheAnalytics and HealtheEDW enterprise data warehouse and analytic offerings, aiding health care organizations in manipulating data. Through data mining and analysis, organizations can glean meaningful insight to identify trends and improve clinical decision support.

“With preventable health conditions rising, finding new ways to improve health and care through data analysis is key,” said Adam Christmann, general manager, reporting and analytics, Cerner. “By providing our clients with the ability to easily know, predict and evaluate population data, they have the ability to make strategic decisions that can impact outcomes based on large volumes of data.”

Tableau offers a highly intuitive interface that enables organizations to discover trends and insights in data that might have gone undetected in static reports based on traditional business intelligence approaches.

“Tableau’s mission is to help people see and understand their data,” said Scott Jones, senior vice president of Americas sales, Tableau Software. “Our collaboration with Cerner is an exciting step forward in doing this. Combining Cerner’s leading health care information technology expertise with Tableau’s advanced data discovery capabilities will support organizations in making data-driven decisions through face-up, meaningful information.”

Analytics based on current clinical, financial and environmental data may empower providers to make decisions that can contribute to patient care, resource management and workflow initiatives.

“We are excited about Cerner’s and Tableau’s collaboration in the enterprise data warehouse and population health analytic space,” said Amanda Hammel, vice president, IT operations and population health, Memorial Hermann Health. “We chose to work with Tableau in 2014 based on their advanced data interaction and dashboard capabilities, which enable us to rapidly create and deploy complex business intelligence use cases. This alignment further solidifies our decision to utilize Cerner’s HealtheAnalytics and HealtheEDW solutions to manage and drive value from the vast amount of data within our health system.”
