Representing independent diagnostic testing facilities, radiologists and oncologists, the Imaging Radiology Oncology Association has been formed to increase awareness of the benefits of undergoing diagnostic procedures that often promote early detection of cancer.

Specifically, the group aims to improve efficiencies and access to diagnostic tests, as well as police and manage regulatory legislation that would affect the diagnostic imaging community.

"IROA was formed due to the need for a cohesive representation of the diagnostic imaging community," said Brant Gamble, president and founder of IROA. "We will employ any means necessary to effectively represent doctors and IDTFs across the nation."

Future plans include the establishment of a lobbying group, which will communicate to Congress and the public that IDTFs operate in a more efficient manner with hospitals.
