Research company, Frost & Sullivan, has named Carestream Health, Rochester, NY, as the recipient of its 2010 European Digital Radiography New Product Innovation Award. The award recognizes development of the CARESTREAM DRX-1 System for the European market.

The DRX-1 is a wireless cassette sized detector that’s designed to be compatible with existing analog x-ray equipment, thus providing a low-cost and efficient way to upgrade to digital radiography.

Tony Graule, Carestream’s sales and business development manager, Europe, and digital capture solutions, commented in the press announcement, “We are honored to receive this award from Frost & Sullivan. Recognition of the introduction of the Carestream DRX-1 System acknowledges our continuing advances in digital imaging technology.”

Frost & Sullivan, a business and market research firm, used several defined criteria to evaluate the DRX-1.

Their evaluation included whether the product has innovative elements, has value added feature benefits, increases customer return on investment, and whether the product has a customer acquisition/penetration potential. The DRX-1 met all of these criteria.
