Carolina Breast Imaging Specialists (CBIS), an imaging center based in Greenville, NC, has implemented eRad’s PACS and data management technology to support its emphasis on early detection. CBIS began offering imaging services last fall. eRad is a division of Radnet.
“An important factor for us was that we wanted a company nimble enough to deploy in a relatively short amount of time,” said Bruce Schroeder, MD, founder and medical director of CBIS. “Technically, we like that eRAD is mobile compatible. I definitely wanted a solution that lets me and my referrers look at an image on an iPad or iPhone, and eRAD gave us that right upfront.”
The project needed to be completed within weeks. eRad succeeded in integrating multiple systems and providing referring physicians with secure access to the PACS. The solution is also scalable, ensuring that the system can grow as the practice expands.
“That flexibility is why we went with eRAD. Our very specific needs were addressed, and that’s been borne out since the implementation as well,” said Schroeder.
