MedInformatix announces the launch of MI-BI at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America. A business intelligence data and analytics visualization tool to help radiology and other healthcare enterprises review key performance indicators and manage practice performance, MI-BI is the latest product developed as part of MedInformatix’s customizable software solution.

“One of the things we hear often in our industry is that practices have tremendous amounts of data but difficulty accessing and using it,” says Pat McGonigle, president and CEO of MedInformatix. “MI-BI changes all that, giving practices the ability to transform a wide range of enterprise data into rich, interactive visuals for enhanced decision making.”

MI-BI integrates with a practice’s existing radiological information system or enterprise practice management architecture, providing staff the ability to generate a comprehensive series of radiology, ambulatory, billing, workforce productivity, scheduling, and other business intelligence reports. Reports are produced using the practice’s own data in a visually detailing way so administrative and clinical staff can assess the performance of various functions and make decisions how to continue or correct. Plus, reports can be viewed via desktop computer or mobile device.

Early feedback to MI-BI has been positive from radiology providers across the country. “From staff utilization to revenue cycle management to our bottom line, MI-BI gives us a whole new way of looking at key data points and analytics, allowing us to operate our practice not just more efficiently, but also more strategically,” says Jim McCaughey, CEO of Bay Medical Management and Bay Imaging Consultants, the largest private radiology group in Northern California.

Beth Beck, president and CEO of Breast Care for Washington, a community organization providing access to breast cancer screening and care among medically underserved women in the Washington, DC area, agrees. “We used to be a data-centric organization,” Beck says. “Thanks to MI-BI we are now a data-driven organization with access to intuitive reports that gives us a better understanding of how our practice is serving our patient community. The data at our practice has come to life with this new tool in such a useful way so we can, hopefully, expand our reach.”

Adds McGonigle, “MI-BI is modern reporting made simple, and that’s a tangible benefit for today’s busy healthcare practice.”
