The Global Ultrasound Institute (GUSI) has launched the GUSI Fellowships Platform, an online program designed to help healthcare professionals improve their skills in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). The platform offers device-independent training, mentorship from POCUS experts, scan review feedback, quantitative assessments, and CME certification.
James Wilcox, MD, assistant POCUS director at Indiana University School of Medicine, described his experience with the platform: “GUSI’s online didactics are the best that I have seen,” he says. “What I like most about the fellowship were the 1:1 sessions and being able to interact with GUSI expert faculty who have many years of experience in POCUS.”
Personalized Ultrasound Mentorship
The platform offers training in 38 scan types and provides personalized mentorship to guide learners. “Our mission at GUSI is to democratize access to high-quality ultrasound training,” say Kevin Bergman, MD, and Mena Ramos, MD, co-CEOs of the Global Ultrasound Institute. “The GUSI Fellowships Platform enables learners from diverse backgrounds to enhance their skills in a supportive, flexible environment.”
Glenda Patterson, MD, a faculty member at the University of Arkansas Northwest Internal Medicine Residency, also spoke out about the platform, commenting: “The GUSI fellowship mentors are the best: patient, kind, knowledgeable, experienced, and supportive. GUSI provided education in the areas I wanted and needed, and in my home/office environment, not requiring multiple trips around the country.”
The GUSI platform also features a system to track performance and progress, helping healthcare professionals refine their skills in ultrasound while managing their professional responsibilities.
