Elevate Plus introduces automated abdominal measurements and integrated AI decision support for breast and thyroid imaging on EPIQ Elite and Affiniti platforms.
Royal Philips received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for Elevate Plus, a software upgrade for its EPIQ Elite and Affiniti ultrasound systems that adds artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled imaging and workflow tools.
The upgrade includes automated measurement capabilities, image quality enhancements, and integrated AI decision support designed to assist clinicians during ultrasound examinations. According to Philips, Elevate Plus is intended to help standardize routine exams and reduce variability between users.
One of the new features, auto measure abdomen, uses AI to automate abdominal measurement tasks. Philips says the tool achieved more than 93% agreement with manual measurements performed by clinical experts and can help reduce the time required for routine examinations.
“Elevate Plus is a game changer for our ultrasound workflow. Automating key measurement tasks allows our sonographers to reduce scanning time by up to 30% without sacrificing clinical precision,” says Gretchen Sammy, RDMS, RMSKS, ultrasound manager at Boston Medical Center, in a release.
The software also brings Koios AI decision support directly onto EPIQ Elite and Affiniti systems. Previously available only through an off-cart workflow, the integrated software enables clinicians to classify breast lesions and thyroid nodules during ultrasound examinations. Philips says the Koios Bi-RADS and Ti-RADS tools use pathology-validated datasets to support lesion assessment and reporting.
Additional imaging enhancements include XRes Pro+ for tissue visualization and Super Res MVI Pro for microvascular flow imaging. Philips says the tools are intended to improve visualization of anatomy and blood flow during challenging exams.
Elevate Plus is available on the EPIQ Elite and Affiniti ultrasound platforms and can be delivered through software upgrades. Philips says the systems support remote updates and ongoing security enhancements.
