The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) is seeking the best and the brightest in the field to recognize during its fourth annual Young Investigator Awards.

The selection committee is accepting abstracts in two categories: technology of cardiovascular CT or clinical applications of cardiovascular CT. Applications must be received by April 2, 2010, and may be submitted online at www.scct.org. Full application details are available online.

To qualify as an applicant, an investigator must be within five years of completing their training, the material cannot have been previously published, the material must pertain to the stated categories, and the application must include a mini-manuscript (1,000 words or less) submitted separately to the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (JCCT).

An independent panel will review the submitted paper for scientific accuracy. The five finalists will receive a $1,000-travel stipend and complimentary registration to the SCCT’s Annual Scientific Meeting, July 15 to 18, 2010, at the Bellagio  in Las Vegas. The two entries that best meet the selection criteria will receive the Young Investigator Award. The manuscripts will be eligible for priority peer-reviewed publication in the JCCT and will be highlighted  on the Annual Scientific Meeting website.
