Through its alliance with MEI Development of Coral Springs, Fla., Mobile Imaging Development, of Las Vegas, has entered into an agreement to buy its first mobile PET/CT scanner, manufactured by GE.

The deal is expected to close by the third quarter of this year, with delivery to the company’s Mobile Diagnostic Centers taking place soon after.

The GE Discovery ST 4 PET/CT scanner, featuring 2D and 3D PET, is configured mobile ready in a trailer with a HotLab. Specifically, the scanner will be installed into an Oshkosh trailer and the trailer body will be painted with the Mobile Diagnostic Centers LP logo.

GE will provide six days of onsite PET training and six days of onsite CT training to the Mobile Diagnostic Centers’ staff. The equipment comes with a 12-month warranty.
