Mach7 Technologies has partnered with Wake Radiology, a radiologist-owned, freestanding imaging practice based in the Triangle region of North Carolina, to install the company’s enterprise-wide vendor neutral archive (VNA).

“We are expanding our partnership with Mach7 because we value the flexibility this comprehensive solution offers,” said Brian Appleby, clinical systems manager for Wake Radiology. “We initially approached this project in June 2013 with a focus on solving key image communication and workflow challenges we faced with our existing PACS implementation. After deployment of Mach7’s Communication Workflow Engine, we have progressively added Mach7’s study prefetching solution and their DICOM/HL7 adapter. It was a natural next step to implement the VNA for study archiving.”

The system will improve workflows by removing manual management and archival of studies and ensuring that images are stored and routed based on customizable rules. Automated, intelligent study prefetching will reduce bandwidth demands, and studies will be cleansed, normalized, and consolidated in a central repository to facilitate image access, sharing, and management. Installation will follow a phased deployment to meet the practice’s business and clinical goals.
