If you have technical expertise or a scientific research background in the field of radiation therapy and cancer treatment,  here is your chance to present to an audience of more than 1,200 radiation therapy and medical dosimetry professionals.

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has extended its Call for Abstracts deadline for the 2010 Radiation Therapy Conference to Feb. 1, 2010.

According to a press release from the ASRT, oncologists, physicists, medical dosimetrists, radiation therapists and others dedicated to cancer care are welcome to submit.

The conference is scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 2 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel in San Diego and is held in conjunction with the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s 52nd Annual Meeting, also in San Diego.

Topics to be presented can include:

·         Patient care, safety, scope of practice and ethics.

·         Immobilization methods.

·         Treatment protocols.

·         Coping with patients who are terminally ill.

·         Emerging technologies and treatment techniques.

·         Documentation, budgeting, staffing or other workplace issues.

·         Scientific research or case studies.
