April 16, 2007—Emergency Cardiac Imaging (ECI) LLC, Galloway, NJ, has announced its new partnership with Imaging On Call (IOC) LLC, Poughkeepsie, NY, to provide a complete range of diagnostic teleradiology services, including coronary CTA post-processing and interpretation, to hospitals nationwide.

“With our partnership with Imaging On Call, we aim to combine ECI’s years of clinical experience using coronary CTA with IOC’s well-established diagnostic teleradiology practice,” says David A. Dowe, MD, CEO of ECI. “It is our goal to make possible the use of coronary CTA in ERs across North American on a 24/7/365 basis. The days of myocardial infarction patients being mistakenly discharged from the ER while we spend $5 billion on unnecessary admissions for chest pain are numbered.”

ECI is a joint venture between Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) and AtlantiCare Health Services; it was the first teleradiology provider in the nation to offer immediate post-processing and interpretations of coronary CTA exams to emergency departments. Under the agreement, IOC, also a teleradiology provider, will hold an equity interest in ECI.
