Stalco Construction, a medical builder active in the New York and Long Island areas, has announced the promotion of Amber M. Gillen from assistant project manager to project manager. Having joined the company in 2012, Gillen has recently overseen several major projects, including the $6.3-million MRI suite at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY; the $1.9-million SUNY College of Optometry laboratories in Manhattan; and the $815,000 Nassau University Medical Center Catheterization Laboratory in East Meadow, NY.

“Amber is a crucial member of Stalco’s healthcare construction practice and this promotion reflects her outstanding managerial capabilities and technical expertise,” said Stalco Principal Kevin G. Harney. “She will support our expanding medical construction services group, which has completed projects valued in excess of $30 million in the last year.”

As project manager, Gillen currently oversees the $3-million, 38,000 square-foot Nassau University Medical Center Primary Care Center in East Meadow, NY and the $1.5-million MacArthur High School cafeteria renovation in Levittown, NY. Her areas of responsibility cover pre-construction, delivery, and close-out phases, including value engineering and constructability analysis, budgets, development of subcontractor bid packages, construction quality and schedules, and post-construction client support.
