The Atlantic Health System, a non-profit health care organization in New Jersey, has selected TeraMedica’s Evercore Clinical Enterprise Suite as its vendor neutral archive (VNA). The Evercore Smartstore and Univision modules will manage approximately 900,000 annual procedures, providing enterprise management for both DICOM and non-DICOM data. The agreement will take effect in late 2014.

“Atlantic Health System is comprised of 1,599 licensed beds, nearly 13,400 employees, and more than 3,700 physicians. Our enterprise needs are vast and we looked to find a solution that could handle our growth,” said Pat Zinno, director of IT infrastructure at Atlantic Health System. “The TeraMedica VNA is able to aggregate images in a full range of formats, whether DICOM or non-DICOM, from across the enterprise into a single archive. It enables retrieval of files as an enterprise-wide, patient-centric record and is architected to suit our expanding data.”

The Atlantic Health System was named one of healthcare’s Most Wired organizations for the fourth year in a row, according to a survey published in the July 2013 issue of Hospitals and Health Networks magazine.

Evercore integrates and manages clinical content, including standard DICOM objects. The system also manages and distributes beyond DICOM using global standards such as MPG, JPG, and PDF. The Smartstore module manages the image lifecycle of DICOM and non-DICOM content, while the Univision module’s no-download image viewer enables integration to any EMR, EHR, PHR, or RHIO.
