Finally, the ever elusive "Meaningful Use" definition that will quallify you and your EHR (or possibly other informatics) is to be released today.
A press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow. CMS and ONC will issue "Final Rules on Meaningful Use and Standards and Certification for Electronic Health Records Incentive Program."
To announce the new regulations, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will hold a press conference Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10 AM EDT.
The definition will detirmine the facility and EHR vendor requirements for receiving stimulus funds torward meaningful use implementation.
Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of HHS, Donald Berwick, M.D, Administrator at CMS, David Blumenthal, M.D., M.P.P., National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, M.D., M.B.A.,
will speak at the press conference.
