April 10, 2007—The Iowa Medical Society (IMS), Des Moines, and athenahealth Inc, Watertown, Mass, have joined forces to provide Iowa physicians access to the clinical and revenue cycle management services available via athenahealth, a provider of we-based services and software for medical practices.
“The ability of our member physicians to care for patients is directly related to the financial health of their practices,” said IMS President Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD. “athenahealth is the only medical practice service provider we have found that fully integrates all facets of practice management, billing and collections, and a new Web-based electronic medical record (EMR) service.”
Iowa physicians will now be able to access athenahealth’s “payor rules engine,” the largest database of payor rules and regulations in the country, and athenaClinicalsSM, which applies athenahealth’s practice management expertise to a next-generation EMR service.
