Fujifilm Medical Systems displayed a new version of its vendor neutral archive (VNA) at the Healthcare Informatics Management Systems Society February 23-27 in Orlando. The Synapse VNA maintains data in a patient-centric system accessible by electronic medical records (EMRs) and other systems, with the goals of enhancing image management, streamlining workflow, reducing costs, and improving patient care.

“Patient healthcare requires communication and decision-making across care providers and settings,” said Jim Morgan, vice president of medical informatics, Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, Inc. “Fujifilm is pleased to introduce Synapse VNA, a new healthcare information technology platform that simplifies healthcare reporting and enables the healthcare community to have access to a complete patient record and streamlines workflow.”

The system enables sharing and consolidation of storage with secure access for authorized users. The Synapse Mobility tool enables secure viewing on desktops, mobile devices, or through the EMR, and the system supports DICOM and non-DICOM data.
