The Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla, has chosen the Digisonics cardiovascular information system (CIS) to provide a comprehensive clinical database, PACS, and structured reporting tool for the facility’s echo and research studies. A web-based application will enable clinicians to access patient images and reports remotely, while the Digisonics search engine will provide tools to extract data, compile statistics, and generate management reports.

HL7 interfaces will facilitate a smooth workflow between the CIS and in-house EMR. A PDF export tool allows finalized reports to be sent to the EMR while preserving the structured reporting format. The DigiConnect application allows clinicians to sign in to any third-party system with a single log-in. A DICOM modality worklist feature automatically transfers patient information to Moffitt’s imaging modalities, generating a list of scheduled patient studies and saving time on manual data entry.
