Once the program aligns the images, the accuracy of the stitch can be observed in a subtraction mode and keyboard strokes can be used to adjust displacement and rotation. productMagnetic Motion Tracker
Ascension Technology Corp. (Burlington, Vermont) releases a new generation of magnetic motion trackers with pciBIRD, applicable for use in volumetric ultrasound measurement, image-guided procedures and biomechanical studies. Similar to its predecessor product, pciBIRD is a six degrees-of-freedom tracker on a PC card. It measures the position and orientation of one or more sensors in a pulsed DC magnetic field generated by a base unit transmitter. Independent service organization MagnaServ Inc. (Stuart, Fla.) expands its line of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanners with two new offerings. The Infinity SX 1.5T, designed for API (advanced parallel imaging), features a 60 cm active-shielded short-bore magnet and a Windows operating system. Standard equipment includes phased-array coils, and vascular and neuro packages.
