Students at Thomas Jefferson University have access to advanced imaging technology from Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc., with the arrival of the company’s Aplio Series.
Housing four Aplio 300 SE ultrasounds and one Aplio 500 system, TJU looks to provide hands-on training of the next generation of ultrasound clinicians in general sonography and vascular and cardiac imaging.
“To provide the best education for our students, we needed technology that employs the latest tools and delivers a user experience that is easy to learn on,” said Dr. Nandkumar Rawool, RDMS, associate professor and program director for diagnostic medical sonography and cardiovascular sonography, Jefferson School of Health Professions at TJU. “The reliability and functionality of the Aplio systems, coupled with the service and training, made Toshiba a good fit for Jefferson’s educational program.”
Toshiba’s systems feature a user-friendly iStyle+ productivity suite and functionality for superb micro-vascular imaging (SMI), fly thru and differential tissue harmonics (D-THI). According to the company, its technologies expand the clinical applications of ultrasound and enable more effective diagnosis for a broader range of patients.
“Toshiba and Thomas Jefferson University share the view that education is a daily, long-term commitment that requires the latest information and resources,” said Calum Cunningham, vice president, marketing and strategic business development, Toshiba. “The advanced image quality of the Aplio systems gives students a high level of visualization and clarity, allowing them to learn preferred techniques in completing accurate and efficient exams.”
