Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc introduced Innovation 2013, new FDA-cleared software advancements for its Aplio 500 and Aplio 300 ultrasound systems.

Innovation 2013 offers enhancements in ultrasound imaging, including B-Mode and Color Doppler, with additional features as options including:
• Luminance: A 4D rendering and lighting technique producing fetal images. Luminance can better visualize the fetal face and other anatomical structures by applying color and illumination to enhance features.
• New transducers: PVT-781VT (3­11 MHz), a high-resolution, endocavitary transducer designed for producing endovaginal and prostate imaging; and PLT-1005BT (5­14 MHz), a high-frequency, high-resolution linear array transducer ideal for small-parts imaging, including breast.
• Workflow enhancements: Next-generation Quick Assist Protocols, designed to automate workflow, increase consistency, and standardize exams.

All existing Aplio 500 and 300 customers will receive the Innovation 2013 software upgrade complimentary as part of the Reliance Technology Protection program, excluding new options.
