The Society for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technologist Section (SNMMI-TS) is excited to announce its partnership with American Molecular Imaging (AMI) to provide an entry-level scholarship to an individual pursuing a career in nuclear medicine technology.
Access to higher education is one of the barriers to a robust workforce pipeline. Unfortunately, many states do not have nuclear medicine technology programs, making the cost of higher education prohibitive for many prospective technologists. This $10,000 scholarship will support the growing need for qualified nuclear medicine technologists by opening the door to higher education opportunities.
“A strong, knowledgeable, and adaptable workforce is essential to maintaining high professional standards and positive patient outcomes,” says Julie Bolin, SNMMI-TS president. “Supporting the next generation of technologists in seeking higher education is a critical step in meeting those goals.”
Supporting Education in Nuclear Medicine Technology
Applicants for this scholarship must have been accepted into a certificate, associate, bachelor’s, or master’s nuclear medicine technology training program within the last six months. The SNMMI-TS/AMI Entry Level Nuclear Medicine Technology Scholarship will begin accepting applications on January 27 and close on March 27.
“With the exponential growth in the field of nuclear medicine, it is imperative that we support the education of the next generation of technologists so that together, we can deliver optimal patient care,” says Jaideep S. Sohi, MD, president and founder of AMI. Established in 2012, AMI provides high-quality professional services with a focus on molecular imaging, nuclear medicine, clinical trials, and theranostics.
