Philips Healthcare will install four Brilliance CT Big Bore systems and Pinnacle Smart Enterprise treatment planning tools at the Seattle-based Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI).

The Pinnacle Smart Enterprise system centralizes radiation therapy planning by moving all computing power and data storage from the desktop into the data center. This allows multiple users to access the system simultaneously and from various locations.

The SCI chose Philips Brilliance CT Big Bore for treatment simulation since the 85 cm opening offers the same degree of freedom as a linear accelerator. The units will be among the first to include Philips orthopedic metal artifact reduction technology, helping clinicians view critical structures near metal in the body.
