At the recent American Telemedicine Association annual meeting in Baltimore Medweb announced the debut of eVisit, a telemedicine application that allows providers and their patients to connect via smart phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.

A turnkey package that enables virtual triage and treatment workflows, including virtual waiting room, EMR integration, call center management, and remote monitoring as a single platform, eVisit is available as both a cloud- and enterprise platform. The system enables hospitals, clinics, and medical offices to provide urgent care patients with advance registration and scheduling, post-discharge collaborative care, follow-up visits for labs, or primary consults for subspecialties such as dermatology.

The virtual waiting room feature automatically imports the patient’s health record from the hospital’s EMR and displays the information alongside a live video consultation. Using the system, ER nurses can virtually triage patients and assign them ER priority. A scheduling tool sends appointment confirmations to a patient’s phone, and the Medweb Call Center Manager supports workload balancing across multiple facilities to promote efficient sharing of resources.
