The best patients are often the ones who are the most informed. Since 2000, RadiologyInfo.org has been informing patients about common procedures and scans in a user friendly, easy-to-understand way.

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of its launch, site administrators are debuting a brand-new look. This update was the result of a usability study that indicated that, while the site was getting high marks for usefulness, understandability, and trustworthiness, it needed an update that was more intuitive and patient-directed.

Patients can get information about more than 100 diagnostic, interventional, nuclear, and radiation therapy procedures. The site answers questions about how to prepare for tests, what to expect, and how interpretation is typically handled. The site also provides information on the benefits versus the risks of procedures.

As an additional benefit, the site offers printable patient handouts, videos, patient safety information, and news about important developments in radiology. The site, which is in English and Spanish, averages about 550,000 visits per month.
