Electronic health record (EHR) provider Pulse Systems Inc, Wichita, Kansas, has updated its Complete EHR as part of its comprehensive plan to prepare for the transition to ICD-10 on Oct. 1.

Meeting Meaningful Use Stage 1 and 2 requirements, the new release allows users to begin entering ICD-10 codes into a patient’s medical record. Providers will still be able to assign ICD-9 codes into the medical record to account for parties who may not transition until later this year.
“Our EHR gives providers additional flexibility to work with insurance carriers or outside parties who may not be ready for ICD-10 or who have chosen to remain on the ICD-9 system by allowing users to utilize both systems as needed,” Burton said.
The Pulse Complete EHR is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as a Complete EHR on Aug. 7, 2013, by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT(R)), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
