Two United States hospitals have purchased IMPAX Agility, a new imaging platform from Agfa Healthcare that combines the functionalities provided by traditionally disparate RIS, PACS, reporting, 3-D, connectivity and clinical applications. Montgomery General Hospital in Montgomery, W Va, and Open Systems Imaging in Palm Desert, Calif, have chosen IMPAX Agility to simplify IT integration efforts and provide a cost-saving image management platform. The system requires less equipment, simplifying management and lowering the total cost of ownership for customers.

Open Systems Imaging, which has 5 locations spread through Southern California, required a system that could streamline functions like image processing and dictation while also supporting the mobile study review and reporting needs of its physicians.

“Agfa HealthCare has taken the smart approach with the development of IMPAX Agility, and is delivering way more than just a PACS, but a true imaging and IT solution that we can grow with for the next ten years and beyond,” said Ken Bishop, CEO, Open Systems Imaging. “By combining PACS, RIS, dictation and more, our radiologists can improve the services they deliver.”
