Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg (RAF) in Virginia has launched an imaging concierge service to help referring physicians in the community better identify appropriate subspecialists and track imaging studies. RAF provides imaging services to Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford Hospital, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, Imaging Center for Women, Medical Imaging at Lee’s Hill, Medical Imaging of North Stafford, and Virginia Interventional & Vascular Associates.

RAF provides around-the-clock coverage to its facilities, with radiologists rotating throughout daytime, evening, nighttime, and weekend hours.

“Because of this mobility, and clinical hours of coverage, referring physicians have told us that it is difficult to find the best radiology subspecialist to answer their questions,” said Ed Swager, CEO of RAF. “A RAF physician committee identified the need for a concierge service that would provide a consistent pathway to reach our radiologists.”

The service is available from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The concierge facilitates communication between referring physicians and the relevant subspecialist in order to identify the correct imaging study, review findings, and discuss the status of a patient’s procedure.

According to Swager, the service is intended as a supplement to existing communication tools. Referring physicians will continue to receive notification of critical results directly from Mary Washington Hospital and the medical facilities. The current phone number to schedule imaging tests remains in effect.
