The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) has announced a new Director of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Industry Policy. Terri Wilson will join the organization to lead MITA’s PET Group and the MITA Molecular Imaging Section.
“PET is an immensely valuable technology, used to evaluate a wide variety of conditions from neurological diseases to cancer to heart disease, and to assess the effectiveness of treatments,” said Gail Rodriguez, executive director of MITA. “Terri’s intricate understanding of the many applications of this imaging modality will ensure that its value is communicated effectively to key policymakers and regulators.”
Prior to joining MITA, Wilson worked as the director of coverage and payment policy for Cardinal Health. Early in her career she managed a free-standing PET facility, then spent many years working in sales for radiopharmaceuticals and PET/computed tomography (CT) scanners at Siemens and PETNET Solutions. She later transitioned to radiopharmaceutical product management and reimbursement while serving as MITA’s PET Coverage Committee chair. According to MITA, her leadership helped improve the National Coverage Determination for PET imaging.
“I am honored to join an organization that is so committed to the advancement of PET and molecular imaging,” Wilson said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues at MITA to advocate for public policies that help promote physician and patient access to these technologies.”
