Nueterra Healthcare, of Leawood, Kan., has opted to implement healthcare information technology from McKesson Corp. in three community hospitals that it is building.
The Paragon community healthcare information system will provide integrated, comprehensive electronic health records and financial management systems for each hospital. It offers an electronic charting system, which will streamline the charting and billing process by providing immediate access to patient information, as well as point-of-care applications, such as barcode medication scanning and automatic documentation of medication administration.
The hospitals will also install the Horizon Medical Imaging picture archiving and communications system to provide electronic access to medical images and reports.
The three hospitals will be located in Great Bend, Kann., McKinney, Texas, and Fremont, Calif, representing the first community hospitals developed and managed by Nueterra. McKesson plans to work with Nueterra as the three hospitals are being built.
