Diagnostic imaging agent company, Lantheus Medical Imaging, Inc, N. Billerica, Mass, has named Dana S. Washburn, MD, FACC, to its newly created position of vice president, clinical development and medical affairs.

Washburn joins Lantheus from Boston Scientific Corporation, Boston, where he served as vice president, clinical trials and safety, and medical safety officer.

At Lantheus, Washburn will lead the clinical trials team, overseeing development of the company’s latest diagnostic imaging agents, as well as providing ongoing medical and safety support for Lantheus’ existing product line, which include DEFINITY and Cardiolite.

Don Kiepert, president and CEO of Lantheus commented in the announcement that Washburn’s appointment reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest possible safety standards for its products.

Washburn added, “Lantheus provides me with a unique opportunity to broaden the application of my experience in clinical development and cardiovascular imaging across a spectrum of products and modalities.
