Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio has announced a new medical staff president. Harlan Meyer, MD, began serving a 2-year term as president-elect last month, and will begin his official term as president in January 2016.

Meyer served as the chair of the radiology department at Columbus Radiology since 2009, and practiced there for 20 years. “This appointment is especially meaningful,” Meyer said. “My family has a unique connection to Grant Medical Center and the radiology department. Both my father and grandfather were radiologists who worked at Grant.”

Meyer’s grandfather was among the radiologists who helped start the radiology department before Grant operated it independently. In 1978, after the hospital’s first major expansion, Harlan’s father and his partners turned over the department’s operations to the hospital and became the present-day Columbus Radiology practice.

“Columbus Radiology has a long-standing relationship with Grant Medical Center, and I look forward to continuing that partnership and contributing to the hospital’s excellent reputation for quality care and diagnostic services,” Meyer said.
