Fujifilm Medical Systems, of Stamford, Conn., together with The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), of Dallas, announced today donations of its Fuji Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCRm) system to the Nancy Reagan Breast Center in Simi Valley, Calif., and Howard University Hospital, in Washington, D.C.

The donations, which mark the first installation of full field digital mammography technology at each facility, were made as part of Fugifilm’s and NBCF’s "Images of Health: Mammograms for a Million Moms" program.

The national breast cancer awareness and education program was launched in October 2006 to spread awareness of mammography’s importance in the early detection of breast cancer.  Its goal is to encourage 1,000,000 more women to get the life-saving screening.

In addition to Fujifilm’s computed radiology for mammography (FCRm) system, the NBCF has donated $50,000 to each facility to provide free mammograms for underserved women in their local communities.
