At the Radiological Society of North America meeting in Chicago Nov. 30 – Dec. 5, 2014, IDS will display its AbbaDox Exchange image and results communication platform, which automates distribution of final radiology reports to a referrer’s EHR through Meaningful Use-compliant direct messaging. The cloud-based technology also transmits image links and CCD files without requiring a complex HL7 feed.

The AbbaDox system allows images and radiology reports to automatically flow to the cloud-based platform following acquisition. They are then transmitted to the referring physician with a link to download the images. After viewing, communication is saved to the referrer’s EHR or patient file. The image links enable providers to meet certain requirements for Stage 2 Meaningful Use.

“Data sharing and transition of care are currently among the most significant and challenging issues in healthcare,” said Yaniv Dagan, CEO of IDS. “Typically, today sharing is facilitated through VPNs and HL7 connections, which are complex and costly solutions. These require specialized expertise and individual setup and maintenance. This does not allow cost-effective communications with all referring providers.”

The AbbaDox Exchange automates Meaningful Use-compliant direct messaging and offers a range of benefits, including streamlined setup, scalability, and vendor maintenance and upgrades. For more information, visit IDS.
