Carestream Health Inc., Rochester, N.Y., today introduced a new long-length imaging system for its KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR 7500 System.

The digital radiography system now offers fully automated positioning and automatic image stitching, expediting long bone and spine exams, as well as general radiology studies. It also eliminates the need for CR-based long-length imaging.

According to Carestream, the vertical imaging system can capture and stitch up to five exposures. Its tube tilting method has the ability to improve image alignment and reduce space requirements. Once the region of interest is defined, the system calculates the required imaging sequence, positions the DR 7500 system, and permits the technologist to easily acquire the images.
