The United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded Carestream 64 patents in 2013 for developments in the areas of radiology imaging, healthcare IT, and dental imaging, the company has announced. Carestream also earned 33 patents from countries outside the US including Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, and several European countries.

“The investment by Carestream in intellectual property is a reflection of our commitment to delivering high-quality products and solutions to our customers that exceed their expectations,” said Susan Parulski, chief patent counsel for Carestream. “The increase in US patents over last year illustrates the depth of talent and dedication of our technical team.” The company earned 43 patents from the US Patent and Trademark Office in 2012.

Patents awarded in 2013 covered innovations in wireless digital X-ray detectors; software enhancements for Carestream’s Vue PACS; advancements in dental imaging and intraoral optical camera systems; digital x-ray exam printing; and silver nanowire technology. For more information, visit Carestream.
