Maryland’s Governor O’Malley has signed into law Breast Density Inform legislation, effective October 1, 2013. Maryland is now the seventh state to enact mandatory Breast Density Inform; 32% of U.S. women now live in states where density notification is required in the patient “lay” letter.

States with enacted mandatory disclosure laws now include: Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, New York, California, Hawaii, and Maryland.

2013 introductions include: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
