Canada-based Ultrasonix Medical Corp recently introduced to the US market a compact, portable diagnostic ultrasound system developed around the third-generation OpenSONIX platform. The SonixTOUCH ultrasound imaging system is capable of generating premium-level image quality, according to the company. Completely touchscreen-driven, and therefore allowing for a reconfigurable user interface, the system can be configured for virtually any ultrasound application and use model. Advanced imaging features include pulse inversion harmonics, transmit/receive spatial compounding, panoramic imaging, real-time 3D imaging, and elastography imaging. SonixTOUCH can be configured to image as a premium B&W-only system, or it can be configured to image as a full-featured premium system with all the advanced imaging modes.
