Biodex Medical Systems (Shirley, N.Y.) is launching a brachytherapy table designed for all image-guided brachytherapy procedures. Motorized controls adjust height, position the four-way tabletop, adjust Trendelenburg motions and lateral roll. The Fowler back is manually adjusted to 80 degrees. A 54-inch long radiolucent area allows full fluoroscopic visualization and unrestricted C-arm positioning. Fluoroscopic tubes may be placed beneath the table, and a built-in removable cassette tray and grid provide hard copy documentation. photoCalibration Software
Siemens Display Technologies (Karlsruhe, Germany) is introducing its SMfit ACT Automatic Calibration Tool to validate image quality and consistency. The software allows digital access to all monitor parameters such as geometry and focus. It also is able to perform automatic calibration and remote conformance testing of preset luminance settings and is capable of loading selectable gamma functions to a LUT. photoDigital Flat Panel with Calibration Software
DataRay Corp. (Westminster, Colo.) is offering its Precision 3M digital, 3 mega-pixel LCD flat panel display that is optimized by a dual-head digital graphic controller. The Precision 3M offers 10 bit gray scale, luminance of 204 FL nominal and a high contrast ratio of 600:1. Calibration software is included at no additional charge. photoMegapixel Monitors
Siemens Display Technologies (Karlsruhe, Germany) is releasing two megapixel monitors, the SMM21126P and the SMM2192L. The SMM21126P is a portrait monitor featuring multiple resolutions up to 1200×1600 with light output of 75 ft. lamberts. It features digital focus control and additional geometric correction circuitry. The SMM2192L (above) is a new landscape monitor, capable of multiple resolutions up to 1600×1200, with light output of 120 ft. lamberts. Both monitors use a dark glass CRT for high contrast.
