Medical imaging migration services provider LAITEK is launching its new Advanced Hybrid Migration service. This service aims to make the migration and storage of medical imaging data more cost-effective while improving control and accessibility for healthcare systems.
The LAITEK Hybrid Migration Service is a variation of the company’s existing Advanced Migration Service, designed to reduce upfront and ongoing migration costs while optimizing existing storage infrastructure. Over time, clinical data may become less relevant but still holds value for AI algorithm development and research. Therefore, outright deletion is often not practical.
LAITEK experts work with clients to categorize older clinical data and determine the best approach. Older data is then moved to the LAITEK ATRIUM Keep, a clinical archive for on-premises or cloud deployment. Newer, clinically relevant data undergoes normalization, cleaning, and migration as part of the LAITEK Advanced Migration process.
This approach offers several benefits, including:
- Reduced upfront migration costs.
- Lower ongoing storage and operational expenses.
- Faster migration project completion.
- Continued access to all data.
Healthcare organizations face challenges managing the growing volume of clinical image data and the increasing importance of older data for AI training, LAITEK officals say. Efforts to consolidate medical imaging data and industry mergers further complicate these challenges.
LAITEK President Fred M. Behlen acknowledges the demand from our customers for solutions that reduce data migration costs. He notes, “The need has become particularly acute as our customers’ medical imaging archives continue to grow. We believe our new hybrid migration approach will address these needs and align migration strategies with cloud-archiving goals.”
