Due to a grant from the Rotary Foundation, Bayalpata Hospital in western Nepal has installed a Carestream Vita CR system with Image Suite software to enable transmission of images to remote physicians and orthopaedic specialists for diagnosis.
Designed as an affordable option for clinics, hospitals, and radiology practices, the Vita CR provides a small footprint and a touch-friendly interface. A mini-PACS module facilitates image management and enables remote consultations. The hospital is currently in the process of establishing a connection with Grande Hospital in Kathmandu to allow physicians there to provide remote consultations for trauma patients at Bayalpata Hospital.
