Intelerad Medical Systems, a Montreal-based provider of enterprise workflow solutions, announces the acquisition of Nashville, Tenn.-based private cloud platform provider Radius. Company officials say this merger will provide a flexible approach to managed services, with the ability to offer hybrid cloud solutions to healthcare providers.

Established in 2009, Radius offers private and public cloud hosting and enterprise storage, with in-house expertise and capabilities in enterprise imaging solutions and data center operations. With more than 15 US-based clients in common, Radius’s HIPAA and SOC2 compliant solutions will enhance Intelerad’s nuage cloud offering and expand Intelerad’s managed services capabilities. With the Radius cloud platform, Intelerad clients gain added flexibility for long-term storage and cloud-based PACS, as well as capacity on demand and disaster recovery.

“By adding the Radius cloud platform and solutions to its offering, Intelerad continues its focus on becoming a true one-stop shop, whether clients are looking to outsource their IT management or simply do not have dedicated IT resources,” says Paul Lepage, president and CEO of Intelerad. “This expanded offering addresses the changes that are happening in the market right now and provides our clients with increased business resiliency, while offering the same elasticity for the cost of managed services that our fee-per-study model already allows for their diagnostic software.”

“As a customer of Radius for many years, and recently migrating to Intelerad for our PACS solution, we can attest to their strong customer focus and leading expertise,” adds David Castleberry, CEO of South Georgia Radiology Associates. “Both Intelerad’s workflow solutions and Radius’ radiology cloud platform have proven to be essential tools in improving our practice’s efficiency.”
